Plant id..... any idea's ? i noticed it coming up last year but the winter seemed to knock it back a bit... but its trying to come back big time this year & it loves the hot sunnier days but as you can see something is also enjoying munching on it.... being the inquisitive type i could'nt wait to see what develops or is it worth protecting it from whatever is dining out on it......Thanks thanks in advance. ;)

Very deep brittle roots that wander a long way. Not a good thing in a smallish border as if you dig it out there are always bits left behind that pop up again. Mine only flowered once in five years but it has taken me two years vigilance to get it all out.

definately Acanthus mollis, and as already said not the easiest to remove, but as it it is not so big, you may be lucky.

It looks like an Acanthus to me (or bears britches). Very invasive but has a beautiful white and purple flower spike in the summer. I love mine but it has to be dealt with ruthlessly if you don't want it all over the garden.
