Please identify this plant for me. i saw it groing in Suffolk near Flatford Mill. Quite mature, almost like a small tree and the flowers are perfumed.

Thank you for all the suggestions :)), I shall look them up on google images, the flowers reminded me of Penstemon flowers by the way.
Ooh, the Dipelta and the Kolkowitzia are very close....not sure which, maybe the Kolkowitzia as it grows quite big and this one was up to the first floor window of the house!

It look svery similar to my Abelia, even the leaf growth along the branches. in pairs.
