bearded iris called braithwaite in container has stopped flowering anyone know why

is it the surface rhizome sort? they seem to flower better when the rhizome has had plenty of summer sun the year before. Did you have a particularly dull summer? clearly lots of rain or you wouldnt have the lakes. lol perhaps it has been too wet.

having said that the first signs of buds are just showing in some of mine, whilst others are nearly out. so perhaps after the cold winter they are just behind.
