the seed was small and black like poppy seed so it is looking more and more like lychnis. i will just have to be patient wont I? :o(

I think it is Lychnis and if you already have them in your garden a bird could easily have dropped a seed or two.

Lychnis I think. I have these seeding in all sorts of pots on my patio even though the parent plant is at the other end of the garden

i had collected the seed , with permission, from a garden i visited on holiday. which is why i am surprised if it turns out to be lychnis. i dont know why i would have collected it when i have it already at home. but it is fun surmising what it could be. like i said patience......

Previous question
« I have moved a large camelia tree (7') from our previous house to our new home...
Next question
It looks like a young Lychnis coronaria - I think there are several varieties, but mainly you see the pink and also the white ones available.
