Can anyone tell me what type of clematis this is? I remember when I bought it said something like Firecracker? but was wondering if I need to take off dead flowers or any pruning necessary? I have never done anything to it and each year it looks better with more blooms. It looks like a brown dead piece of wood by the end of the fall, but then comes to LIFE like a miracle in the spring and has more and more blooms each year...so seems like nothing is good for this ? I do water allot in spring and also couple of times give it powder mixed with water ( miracle grow type) fertilizer, but that's about it.

Looks like that to me too. I usually take off the dead heads as they will sometimes have a second flourish but wouldn't prune....it seems to doing just fine.
