I am jumping on the bandwaggon with a question! Can I remove the seed pods from my plant and sow them. When can this be done?
thanks x

Yes, as soon as the seed pods begin to split. In fact if you gently split a pod and if the seeds are black then it is time to collect and sow.

I have been successful with these. Sow them now under a layer of grit. Put the pot in a leafy, shady spot (under a shrub?) and keep it moist over summer. Eventually, about October, it should look like cress! Prick them out and grow on for a year before planting out everywhere!

I usually leave the newly emerged seedlings to get their true leaves before potting on. Or even pot the whole seed pot on into a deeper pot and wait until they are a lot bigger.

As soon as possible, Jacque. The fresher the better - cover with a thin layer of grit or vermiculite then keep outside somewhere shady.
