Violas - when to plant out.

Berkshire, United Kingdom

Violas. about a some month ago I removed "baby" violas from my garden and have been bringing them on in pots. They seem to be doing quite well, but I have no idea when I should move them back to the garden ?
Any advise appreciated.

Check to see what the root system is like by removing a few rootballs from their pots.

If they have a good root system then plant them out now!

If the root system is poorly developed then coddle them a bit more, as you are doing now, then check them again in another months time.

Basically there is no rush to plant them out, root size is the most important aspect.

They should be of a size that gives them a chance to withstand the conditions of their final quarters.

But in the end the choice is yours...Tg
