Great Grandparents!

I just thought I would share with you the joy we both felt when this little one Maya Rose was born at 2.15pm on Sunday 6th February.
Two hours later we were looking at our dear great grandaughter on the Portal on our tv!
As they live quite away from us in Colchester, they thought it would be a lovely surprise to see her as we were waiting to hear from my daughter Rachel.
Rachel arrived on the Sunday with our other grandaughter Maddison for a visit and then said why don’t we have a chat on the Portal with Lauren. You can imagine our surprise when the screen came up and a baby appeared! Then Lauren who was in the ward just said " hello Grandma".
It didn’t register at first and both Rick and I just sat looking at the screen wondering why was there a baby there! When we realised Maya had been born, I just started to cry! We were so emotional and so so happy!
Lauren was due on that date and our little Maya arrived on that date! 6 lb 13 ozs.
I was going to put a picture of Maya on this blog on Monday and have been trying ever since! I am hoping this site gets sorted out and we can all get our pictures back on! I shall just try to add a photo only and hope that works!

Its a wonderful way of communicating Rose, we used it all the way through the worst part of the pandemic , when we could not visit each other or go out anywhere, held family quiz nights every Saturday with family near and far. it helped get us through those months....

I will think about it Sue!

I have just flagged them like Hywel suggested, so will see what happens!
Thank you for your lovely comments!
As we are going to Suffolk in May to a cottage and Colchester is only 45 minutes drive from there, they are going to visit us at the cottage and spend the day with us. So looking forward to that and holding our little one!
