Photo of plant I bought and asked a question about yesterday Driad was asking for a pic.
Must be warmer today the fish are up and feeding,
The heron has got a mate, the heron was a birthday present from my wife back in October and then she gave me the pheasant for Christmas. Sold at the National Trust house where she works and all made from scrap metal.
Lost even more fence panels last night but won’t put a photo too depressing .

I love the birds as well - you'll have us all rushing off to our local NT shop! I put a Leucothe in a nice shady spot under a big sycamore. I have learned better since joining Goy! It died quite quickly. Hope yours does well, they are lovely plants.

Lovely pics Roy. You have made it look very un-wintry! Well done! Been raining hard here since yesterday evening. It's making us all very grumpy!

Yes Shirley tulip its a Leucothoe Fontanesiana Scarletta that I got for half price , thank-you Steragram I was going to put it under the Walnut tree but not a good idea then, thank-you Cottagekaren yes it wasn't a bad afternoon here after all, but I don't think it's going to last.

A nice healthy looking plant Roy. You won't be disappointed with it. How wonderful your wife chose such beautiful gifts for you.

Thank-you Scottish yeah not bad for £4-50 the plant that is, not the pheasant I guess was a little bit more.

I think mine failed for two reasons, it was much too dry and it wasn't acid. If your tree site is better it may be OK.

Roy, I have checked back on my garden records to find I bought 2 of these ('Rainbow' variety) back in October 2010 ... as they have put on very little growth since then I shall pot them up in Ericaceous compost and tell them to 'buck up or else!' .......

Perhaps I'll give it a go under the tree Steragram thank-you, I like your attitude Shirley I tell them they got two chances.

Your pond looks very neat :o)
I'm sorry to hear your fence suffered in the wind. I hope you'll be able to fix it soon ...

Thank-you Hywel I have a son-in-law that works in a timber mill and I get a discount but he's not back at work at the moment and when he is they will be inundated, you've only got to look around here and theres loads down.

A very wobbly fence here as well, think its only the fact that its swaying in the wind thats stopping it breaking off, lol..
Do like your heron and pheasant and am amazed to see your fish up and feeding, it must be a lot warmer in your pond Roy......

We've had some nice afternoons here Lincslass but bearing in mind our fish are pigs, in the summer I've got to measure out their food, I hope your fence stays up for you, I think we're due another lot tomorrow , thanks for the like the birds are made from scrap metal, Roy.

I bought a Heron like that in Sainsburys, put it by my
pond, and two weeks later it was going rusty.
Returned it to the shop, got a refund.
Keep an eye on it.
