The hellebores ,generally, cope with the cold and snow. Let's hope your magnolia will be ok.there is a huge Stellata around the corner from me and treat had some flowers open weeks ago but the cold wether has put a stop to that but it's still smothered in buds!

My stellata is looking ready for action too. Lets hope they hold back until the worst frosts are over.

In my tiny yard, a couple of buds on my camellia opened at new year but suffered from Sunday night's snowfall. Chaenomeles Jet Trail was great over the new year but has now lost most of its flowers.
One hellebore has been putting on a good show since 20 December and I've noticed one snowdrop and 2 Iris reticulata fattening up as they get ready to open.
Magnolia Susan is taking her time.

Hi, I hope the frost doesn't damage your magnolia. They are such lovely trees. Snowdrops and Crocuses are tougher than they look so they'll probably be all right. The forecast said it's going to get milder by the end of the week :)
