The exhibitors at this years show gave their flowers plenty of TLC to put on this glorious display. First flowering shrubs and what do you know 1,2, and 3 were all hydrangeas.
For so late in the year the roses were lovely
there was vases of annuals, biennials, and perennials and mixed vases
Flower heads on boards are a well known way of displaying the flowers only. A box is made up with holes in the lid to drop the flowers through into a source of water stored below. They had some lovely pansies and violas on display.
and gladiola
I have more photos but they will need to wait for another blog.

Fancy those Hydrangeas all having prizes. They must have read your recent blog lol :D
There was an unusual Dahlia in ons vase - looked like a brown centre, then green then pink ... I liked that one.
They all looked so fresh and colourful.

I'll try and put up a question, maybe someone will id it for you Hywel. I had to look twice to id it as a dahlia I thought it must be something else. There was a wide selection of flowers. Thanks Diane.

I have only shown a small selection of the photos I took because the blog would be too long otherwise. I do hope you have a show near you Bloomer where you can enjoy a lovely day out. I only had about an hour because we had been to Inchcolm that day. Its great to see what is grown locally especially for new gardeners.

What a wonderful display. How hard the growers must have worked to nurture the plants through such a year.
I was relieved to read that the violas were in water! I thought at first they were pinned on like butterflies in old collections!

Hywel I got an answer to the question I posted. Scrumpygrat thinks it is a zinnia. I think she is right but I was unable to pin down which.
