Talkin Tarn visit today

We went to the local Country Park, Talkin Tarn this morning and waved to Matthew in his signal box just before the turn in to the car park. I managed to walk quite a way, snapping pictures all the time and then we sat and rested; talked to passersby, made friends with dogs, two of which were bloodhounds (oh the noise they made on encountering some dog they didn’t like!), chortled at babies and took more photos. We were concerned at the lack of birds swooping over the water as there were plenty of insects flying about. It was a lovely experience to see the Tarn in Spring. Loads of ducklings; swans gliding majestically by, gulls crying overhead and much beauty in the wooded areas where the beeches are predominant. Yellow gorse, and some small mauve flowers amongst the growth alongside the track added to the pleasant picture.
There were youths paddling blue drums (?) linked together like the hulls of a catamaran. They seemed to be racing each other and having a lot of fun.

We felt so at peace with the world in this lovely place.

It was such a good morning for relaxing and simply enjoying being out in the Natural world away from the noise and bustle of life as it is today.

I hope I shall see some of these sights in my dreams tonight!
