Hi Everyone
Welcome to my first ever blog on my adventures in my first ever garden!!
No doubt it will be full of excitement as i make a lot of mistakes and learn along the way! With no experience and next to no budget it could be interesting!
Anyway uploaded the first pictures of my blank canvas today so take a look and give me your hints and tips! They will be greatly appreciated.

I think that will be my first job Oliveoil! How much should i cut away as a border between steps and grass??! Have some Narcissi and crocus to go in? They would do right??

What look do you want to achieve, Sparkly? Do you want formal or informal planting? Shrubbery for low maintenance?
It's all challenging but I bet there's some good soil under that grass...you'll have to get started pretty quick though to get your bulbs in. Happy planning :)

Start by taking a little out just enough to get you going, don't overdo it. See how you like it you can always take more out as you go on.

I have a slope like this and love planting beside the steps, it softens the edges :-))

sometimes it is nice to plant something that smells nice on a pathway to a house ~ lavender or maybe thyme that creeps onto the path and smells lovely when you tread on it? hope you have fun, i just put in the plants that i like best! lots of trips to the garden centre helps you to know what is out at this time of year ~ even if you dont buy anything!

OOer different levels that looks interesting! Think I would cut out the grass away from the step edges first, plant up with bulbs ready for spring and cut out the grass down at the front edge and put in some nice roses, in fact think I would take out as much grass as possible but I am sure you will do that anyway once you get into the gardening mode. Good luck with your blank canvas I am sure you will have fun, little and often, don't try to do too much in one go. Enjoy :o)
