San Francisco Bay Area rainy season starts for real.

Mid December is when all usually kicks in- rain,winds,and cool 59f weather. The last two years of our four year drought were sunny,mild to warm. Not traditional!
The morning after Christmas to be very cold up and down the state. 30’s for almost all.
Its funny though..I don’t have to whistle loud for the 2 cats to come running in out of the rain- dodging droplets.
Mama cat is a ball of fur…her kitten looks so much like a Ocelot. Really nice reticulated fur design. Who knows who Mr. Mama cat was?
Kitten is a bit wild…but settling down. I got him playing with my fingers- no biting thank god- And cat toys from when Mama cat was a kitten herself 5 years ago make him happy.
Once again- the time of year when I see my tropical plants and wonder how the heck they take so much winter cold?. The wonder of plants.

Cats are lovely pets. Over here they are best kept indoors with a litter tray. If they are warm and have their food bowl they want for little else. There are cat societies that raise money for free neuturing for those on a low income.
Its sad when they are over 15 years old, and the time comes to part with them, as this costs £30, but they are gone in 5 seconds.
The vets here are very good, you go into the office leaving the cat in the car, sign the forms and return to the car. The vet then comes out and takes the cat from the car in the carrier, keeps this for cat charities, just brings the
'parcel' back for burial.
The worst part of pet ownership is this awful feeling of loss when they have to go, but its easier this way.
