What does mean "lessons"? Is it reading sections from Bible?

Yes Katarina. There are nine Bible readings beginning with the Genesis account of creation and the fall, through the prophets to the birth of Jesus. Between each reading there are one or two carols, often on the theme of that reading they are next to but not always. There is a famous broadcast every of a traditional service from Kings College Cambridge at 3.00pm on Christmas Eve. It's a very peaceful hour acter all the rush and bustle.

This afternoon we went for a walk on the very long beach near here. The tide was out a long way and the sun was shining - lovely!

We listened to 2 programmes of Carols last night - one in English and one in Welsh :)
Much better than the rubbish songs they play everywhere you go these days.

I can imagine that beach on a sunny winter's day. It must have been refreshing :)

Yes Hywel, it was very nice but the wind was pretty cold. I do agree about the songs. the little beach you saw is very very wet as the stream has got dammed at the top and the water is seeping out through the shings over a wide area.
