LOL. Thought you were going to do all the days.....and wondered how confusing that was going to get!! That reminds me of the same carol, different words that 9 of us put together on a felluca on the Nile, might look it up, it was very funny! Happy Christmas, festive season and a brilliant 2011.
15 Dec, 2010
Next photo.... I challenge you ...
"Six starlings playing" ..
when you've added that photo, I'll give you the next caption ... for number 7 ... ;o)

A Happy Christmas to you Stickitoffee lovely blog.
15 Dec, 2010
I was just in the local garden centre and they were playing birdsong over the sound system --but-- there on top of a stand-- singing his little heart out --was a robin with an audience of fascinated shoppers.......
15 Dec, 2010
Merry xmas...
15 Dec, 2010

15 Dec, 2010
Funnily enough the album is in this very room, I will go fetch it....written in 1986!!.....In Eygypt, on a boat, 9 people ALL from a different country.
On the 12th day of Christmas my true love said to me..
12 Fiesty Arabs
11 squating toilets (sorry but true!)
10 Crumbling pyramids
9 Felluca travellers
7 Falafel from Cairo
6 Belly dancers
5 Fleas of camels
4 Smoking Beduins
3 Swaying palms
2 Nubian princes
And an Oogie Boogie from The Nile (shouted very loudly!!)
Oogie Boogie was a made up name for an illness gotten from the Nile which the name for we kept forgetting, so we called it The Oogie Boogie Bug!! (it was Bilhartsia, not nice!) It was a week before Christmas when we sang this, the Egyptians must have thought we were nuts!!

what a good idea ~ he has been now!!
dont think he did the singing tho ~ have to get my new daughter in law to be to sing it ~ she can sing!!!
the original version of this is one we used to get the children to do at school the Head used to get the whole school to join in ~ every class had a number eg: one year 6 would be 'a partridge in a pear tree' all the way down to reception who would be '12 lords a-leaping' and every time that phrase came up the whole class stood up and sang it out very loudly ~ it was great fun.
17 Dec, 2010
on sunday ( weather permitting) we're going to a christmas lunch --over 200 people including children & Santa, each table has a note telling you which verse you are * we've been lucky in other years to be high numbers*-you then stand and sing the verse in turn -- with actions -- If you're the partridge its exhausting!!!-- but good fun ;O))
17 Dec, 2010
That's a good idea, with different classes/groups taking turns to sing... :o)
17 Dec, 2010
thats the idea pam ~ and yes TT; very exhausting for partridges thats why it was given to the oldest children!!
17 Dec, 2010
Lol.... that makes sense :o)
17 Dec, 2010
excellent !! ;-))
17 Dec, 2010
thank you!

18 Dec, 2010

Hot and sunny in Worcs is it ?
Put the kettle on...
...we're all heading in your direction with our bikinis... ;o)
18 Dec, 2010

18 Dec, 2010
Brilliant blog Sticki ... well done. Happy Christmas to you. : o )
19 Dec, 2010
Excellent!!!!! The Turkish delight loks lovely: as always, it is on my Christmas list so hopefully I will get at least 3 boxes plus some chocolate ginger as well.
Oh and a bottle of Amarula to wash them down....
19 Dec, 2010
thanks shirley and geraniumdad ~ i made that turkish delight ~ and it was delightful!!! very morish!!! sounds like you will have a very good christmas GD ~ whats amarula?
19 Dec, 2010
I checked and it's a cream liqueur, Sticki.
Just popped in to say what a lovely blog this was. Sorry I'm late! :-))
19 Dec, 2010
cream liqueur sounds very good ~ thank you spritz
19 Dec, 2010
The fruit to make the liqueur is eaten by elephants when it is fermenting and they get sloshed! The liqueur is really nice.
19 Dec, 2010
have the elephants trodden on it before we drink it? what flavour is it?
must be a jumbo drink?
19 Dec, 2010
The fruit is picked before the elephants get to it. It is a fruity taste: I don't think it tastes similar to other cream liqueurs. If you type in an internet search for Amarula you can find out all sorts of info. As you are a dab hand at cooking, I bet you could find some recipes you could use it in.
19 Dec, 2010
might prefer it neat???
always good poured on ice cream tho!??
19 Dec, 2010
I like to have some in my hot chocolate and have been known to have some on my muesli! I only ever have some at Christmas: if you get a chance, try some.
By the way, this blog has inspired me to try something similar with apologies to Sir Cliff Richard. Hopefully, it will be finished in the next few days if I am still awake!
2 staff down at work until middle of January (out of 10 of us) and several others not well at all. I will be working most of Christmas yet again. The animals need feeding and looking after, more so during this cold weather.
21 Dec, 2010
i think you deserve some in your hot chocolate!!! i shall certainly try that! seems a very good idea ~ back to work tomorrow but worn out now and its too quiet now sons have gone.
i shall look forward to your blog GD
