That is a lovely photo,Stripes..well taken.:o)... Mavis, they always seem to test the nest box hole, before they decide,as it has to be just big enough for them, and no predators.I know our bluetits do this, and peck round the edges first, even though they did that already last year as well.:o)
I don't know if these do the same ?

Great photo Stripes, its good to see them making their nest in your box, I`d be forever watching if I was lucky enough to have them so close, I know there are lots busy making their nests in our hedgerow amongst the ivy and I watch them collecting the materials, guess they prefer that, hope yours stay for you , it amazes me to see how hard they work ........

Thank you all, I've never had so many different birds in my garden before. Today we had Long Tailed Tit's, Gold finches, Blue Tit's, Robin's.
This morning the male H/S was chasing of predators to his new home, shall try and get some more pic's soon.
Talk about time waster's I could watch them for hours.....

Love them. Any chance for a secret camera in the box? Believe me I have not seen a single house sparrow in my garden for more than 10 years. Many birds here, robins, wood pigeons, black birds, e.t.c., but no house sparrows. I remember when they nested under my roof tiles but no longer. I would like to here from people in the greater London area about it.
