Cherry Blossom Morning And A Busy Gardening Day Ahead.

I woke up to gorgeous sunshine this morning. The cherry blossom in my garden is showing its pure white petals. Spring has arrived. It’s surprising when I look out the window at first glance it just looks rather green but when you take a close look there is quite a bit of colour.

Last week Steve started to take out the large shrubs so my garden is looking horrible now I have taken some photos but its heart breaking to see them. However, I know when it is finished it will be well worth the change. Today I will start to dig out some of the big roots.

I am bringing on some perennials in the greenhouse bought on from seed it’s so expensive to buy from the garden centres so I am planning to grow as much as I can from seed or from cuttings also swapping with friends. Most of the seeds were free on my Amateur Gardening magazine. The look I am aiming for can only be described as a riot of colour.
I am keeping the Magnolia in the middle of the bed and I am going to put two Hydrangeas in one either side equal distance apart from the tree. Then it is going to be filled out with Lupin, Agapanthus, Iris, Shasta Daisy, Foxgloves. Lots of cottage planting. It is not going to be a quick process but it will be satisfying to know I raised most of the plants myself.

Thank you all for your lovely words of encouragement (I need it!) Yes it will be very satisfying to grow so many plants from seed but I know for sure I'm going to have far to many so I will have lots to give away or swap!!!
It took a good couple of hours for the headache to go and I have been busy getting ahead of the jobs for tomorrow so I can spend the whole day in the garden

Sheilabub ~ The pink flower is Ribes Sanguineous kojo. It is lovely.
