Briza Maxima start to finish

One of my favourite plants is grass, especially totter grass Quaking grass or proper name Briza Maxima.
this seed can actually be sown Dec/Jan/Feb as well as spring time so you can get a good show right through summer and autumn..
here’s some i made earlier !!
here a few weeks old..
this is 2 months old, a nice bunch..
then when ready you get these little beauties….
Then they just open up and laze about in the sun….
then they start to turn a lovely golden colour….
still lazing about…
then fully golden…
until the wind blows and they slowly fall to the ground….
when the wind blows and your near them then you can actually hear the rustling from them….
if they fall now like some of mine have then the whole process starts again, plus i’ll save some for next year….
hope you enjoyed the life of one of my favourite grasses :-))
