Obelisk Pond

As my youngest’s school was closed for inset Monday i decided to take her to Windsor park, the Obelisk pond and walk around it..

As you walk down from Bishops gate you can take this path here which is the Rhododendron walk, during May , June, July this is covered in purple blossom and is a real sight to see.

This is the sand pit where i take my kids…

The sand pit from across the lake..

Across the lake again…

Further down the bank across the water..

Had to get a closer one of all these black headed seagulls in the tree there

A reflection in the water when i was by the waters edge..

On the way back outside the propagation Dept. The Gunnera Manicata all prepared for the winter..

close up of how it’s done here, cut and prepared, what a job this is!! this clump is around 45 years old….

Thanks for looking at our walk around the pond, hope you enjoyed it :-)

those reflections in the water are beautiful, we used to live near woburn abbey ~ lots of rhodedendrons there and in the nearby woods there was a sand pit ~ very similar.

yes we used to do that to, many camps in the rhodies and there used to be mounds of leaves piled up so we'd all jump in them :-)
