yes Kildermorie they are nearly all open apart from a few i planted later to prolong the flower period... they are lovely bulbs :-))

love frits too, i must check on mine tomorrow.

Do you grow a lot of alpine type plants Slad? Lovely fritillaria 'story'!

Thanks Karen, yes i grow a range of alpine and bulb plants, plus hardy/warm orchids... :-)

Oooh, Slad, I grew Epipactis Gigantea last year..can't wait to see if they will return this year! :)) They are beautiful. I also grow some little hardy orchids in my wet border. I would love some of the hardy orchids with purple flowers...still to find some of those. I actually know where to get them, but it's getting there at the right time that's the problem. I should email them and ask for some. They have them at Branklyn Gardens in Perth. They have a really big scree bed there with lots of lovely little things. I hope to get there this year, didn't manage last.

Your right Karen they are lovely little plants, mine never flowered last year but i have noticed they are starting to poke their heads through...although no sign of my Cypripedium reginae yet although it is still early....what purple one is it ?

thanks Hywel the monochrome was just a play, i was doing sepia first but unhappy with it :-/

They are gorgeous, mine have all gone walkabout, seeing these lovely pics makes me want to have some more but have to put them somewhere else...

Thanks, yes i love them, i had some yellow Fritillaria Pudica as well but the mice ate them and left these... rascals :-)
