My dream pergola

We have a long, narrow, East (SouthEastish) facing garden so the patio near the house gets full morning sun but by 12, is in the shade as the Sun moves down towards the bottom of the garden. This means our patio, which has always been our main seating area), quickly gets chilly in the evenings as we are a stone’s throw from East Beach (I can see it from my bedroom window at the back of the house). I have always wanted a seating area at the back of the garden, which stays full sun for most of the day, with a pergola, supporting grapes vines and perhaps wisteria or honeysuckle.

I saw a beaut, just the right size, at Capel Manor the other day.

And when we went to Crews Road nurseries., I saw a kit for quite cheap, as well. The only drawback is, we have to clear the area as the ground is uneven in that area and there’s a lot of overgrown shrubbery. So it’s not just a simple case of buying and installing said pergola. Oh no, it’s going to be a mission!!!

But I love the idea of wicker furniture, arranged sort of like a lounge, offering an outdoor living room and if it doesn’t happen this year, it WILL happen next, lol.

Go for it Tatia, I've just started on a major 'refit' of my back garden. It's great to make dreams come true :)
