Lovely wild area preserved and managed for nature. A number of hides around the reservoir offer good views of the wildfowl that frequent the area.

We're opening for the National Garden's Scheme for the first time in June 2009, i'll be adding pics etc (as soon as i can figure out how to do it!) so watch this space.

the best garden i've ever been to. the most amazing plants to look at. so great to see such an old garden with huge trees. very welcoming staff well worth a visit.

This is not a garden but rather a deciduous wood with, mainly beech, oak and sweet chestnut although there are silver birch and at least one wild service tree.
It is reputed that people such as Henry V111 and Anne Boleyn among others.hunted in these woods.
The wood is overseen by Rochford District Council and ha permanent free access to the public.

That would be great - I already know of two other members who are coming, apart from Grenville and Alan, who will be helping!

My garden has been accepted into the NGS in 2009 for the first time. It is two-thirds of an acre in size, with colour-themed beds and borders and mature trees and shrubs. There is a 40 ft long raised bed reached by steps from each end. A natural stream runs through the garden. The area is rural and the garden is tranquil. It wraps around three sides of an early 16th century house (not open to the public).

The opening dates and times for 2009 are Thursdays June 4th and 11th from 2 - 5.30.

Cascades Gardens is a beautiful 4 acre public garden set in the historic village of Bonsall, near Matlock Derbyshire. The public gardens at Cascades surrounds the ruins of an old corn mill. The spectacular open gardens features a wide variety of plants, including a fantastic selection of hellebores and herbaceous perennials providing interest throughout the year.

A beautifully laid out garden full of interesting plants. There are rockery gardens, summer borders, meadows and beautiful woodland walks. The house was the home of Earl Grey (there's a fantastic tea room here!). The snowdrop walks in February are breathtaking. Well worth several visits, the garden is interesting at any time of year.

Absolutely wonderful plantsman's garden which is packed with plants of all types. Some beautiful woodland plants, a pond and quarry garden, superb planting combinations. Anyone within a reasonable distance should make this garden a priority! It's only open Wednesdays and Saturdays during the summer but it really is un-missable.

Do you grow any vines like the Matelea or sarcostemma species?

a magical place i have visited many times whilst on holiday in pembrokeshire. I have seen the lilies out but visited often just for the sheer beauty and quiteness. A lovely walk through to the beach and well worth the effort. we have many photos -none of which are digital! hoping to visit again in 2009 and then add some up to date photos to the website.

This is a fantastic place to visit . It was an old work house and also used as a sanatorium for infectious diseases , it has been turned into a museum and has craft shops ,bakery and cottages with gardens , also a working farm using Suffolk horses and has a range of other animals , a Blacksmiths Forge . it has Apple days where you can take apples to be identified . There is something of interest for everybody .

I am the owner of this yet to be develped new but old nursery.
I work full time, so at the moment I am open only on Saturdays. I hate to give a phone number out, but members showing an interest in my plants or the gardens I work for should send me a message.

I do not take in borders, as my vacumn cleaner is sometimes on the frits and I cannot assure short notice of vacuuming the sheets.

I am so glad the zoom stopped before it showed the weeds!

Herb Senft

This is one of Florida's original attractions having been around since the 1930's. They have restructured in recent years and shifted the focus from a botanical garden to more of a theme park.

They host a botanical gardens that includes a gigantic banyan tree, and they have a glass butterfly arboretum. They used to have seasonal garden-themed displays every year. They would have topiary gardens in the spring and a garden in lights display during the Christmas holidays that covered almost the entire park. I'm not sure if they still have the seasonal themes now.

This is a nice free public garden that is maintained by the county. They have several areas to explore and are also next to the heritage village. Great place to learn about native Florida habitats and plants.

Foxhollow will be open for the weekend 5th and 6th September 2009, 10.30am - 5.30pm.

By appointment at any other times for weekends only commencing 4th and 5th July 2009.

Plant sales - propagated from our garden collections, many of which cannot be obtained anywhere else in the UK.

This is a small, but beautiful formal garden maintained by the local city. It is laid out in different themed rooms, including a tropical room, an herb room, and several others. The plants are changed out seasonally, so there are always new things to see when visiting. It is also a popular place for weddings and photo shoots. Overall a neat place to visit.
