We have been dark for ten days, so thought of bright flowers for cheer.

Susan Sargent, a well known artist, did many designs for pottery, rugs, and fabrics. A Vermonter.

Loved the color of the Salmon Petunia but it did not hold up very well.

Amaryllis Red Velvet

Coleus, so versatile for vibrant color.

The old standby- Geranium

Marigolds, how can we be without these?

Had a big stand of yellow Zinnias which lasted all summer.

Leaves for accents

A Potpourri of colors.

Cheers the heart on a cool frosty morning here

A very bright collection to lighten up the dark winter days!

Though today the skies have been TRANSPARENT from dawn to dusk! No high, white clouds, no haze, no mist or fog just glorious sunshine from sun up till sun down & they were equally transparent before the sun came up this morning & still are even though it set a few hours ago!

Have you seen just how bright Venus is? Have you spotted Mars, about a fist's width & a little higher & to the left of the Evening Star? I pointed them out to my wife when we got back home from doing a little shopping in town. I can see them perfectly from our kitchen window!

What a cheerful selection, brightened my morning, foggy here, all that can be here are the fog horns, quite musical!
Balcony my OH pointed out how bright Venus was a couple of nights back.....

Venus is at it's most reflective about now & will be similar for a few more weeks at least.

Mars is to its left but higher up but as its quite a bit dimmer than Venus it makes it much more difficult to see. Mars is also very high in the sky & will only get higher as the weeks go by though I think it may get dimmer also. I'm not sure when it will too faint to see with the naked eye. A few months ago it was a lot brighter than it is now but was not as easy to find as now.

Venus is so bright it can be seen perfectly well before 4pm at present. Just look to where the sun is setting then move your eyes further up Venus practically jumps out at you!
