What a lovely blog, gorgeous flowers. How do you get a sedum to flower like that, I'm lucky if I get one spike ! Love the lavender aster too. Brings back memories for me. But all the pictures are fab Wells.

You have lots of lovely plants, Posy! That large Oriental Lily is beautiful! The lavender Aster is lovely, too.
The view from the last but one photo is gorgeous! ??

Your garden looks wonderful, and what a great backdrop with the hills in the distance too!

What great photos, Posy. I' sure you have had a lot more sunshine than Karen and I with such lovely blooms. You have nice open spaces.

Well you may not have liked your Summer weather but your Vermont garden seems to have adapted marvellously. Just look at all those colours, and like Balcony I have fallen for that Oriental Lily. You obviously have the magic touch!

Your plants look as if they are thriving, even if you had a bad summer. They are beautiful :)

What beautiful blooms. I think we've all suffered one way or another this year...but nature compensates...when one plant suffers another thrives.

I love your garden... you always take great pics. Sorry to hear about your summer, we haven't done badly this year in the UK, we had a decent spring for once, and a lovely summer right up to mid July. It's gone off since though, big time!

Not sure whereabouts you are in the UK Bamboo...but here summer has been dreadful...only odd days here and there...and yes, spring promised so much.. :-((

I'm near London, in the south east, where its drier and sunnier generally, to be fair

Dreadful here too. There has been a real East West divide as far as weather goes.

Actually had the heating back on, on Sunday...and considering it again tonight ?
7 Sep, 2017
During August we had to put the heating on for two days as well! First time in years we've had to do that!
I was considering putting it on this evening as well but in the end just made a cup of tea, ate a trifle & now feel warmer once again! :)

I've had the heating on 5 times in the last 6 weeks too - usually on days when the humidity's been really high because of all the rain, nothing worse than a clammy chill indoors.

Whatever happened to summer this year?...ah well, let's hope winter is a mild one...heating back on again tonight ?
8 Sep, 2017
Heating back on at 5, never mind tonight - funny though, its colder in than it is out...

Yeah, same here...strange that.
8 Sep, 2017
We often find the same thing here as well! I wonder why that is?
8 Sep, 2017
Dunno really - I've always noticed it in spring, as the sun arrives outdoors but the air temperatures are still low, that makes sense, but why it happens this time of year I'm really not sure.

Some beautiful colours there Posy. It has been a dire summer hasn't it. And yet our gardens still manage to thrive and bring colour, vigour and joy to our souls. Where would we be without flowers eh?
