Fran requested the following recipe,
3/4 lb Beef Mince
3/4 lb Lamb Mince
Carrots
Potatoes
Onions all diced very small.
salt and pepper
2/3 beef oxo cubes
A good glog of Worcester Sauce, “optional”
Mix all the ingredients together and sprinke the oxo cubes over, give a good mix, cover with cling film and leave overnight stirring ocassionally to encourage moisture to the mixture,
Make your pastry, you will have to make batches, I use a 6" tea plate, cut out and fill with your ingredients, egg wash when they first go into the oven, and again half way through cooking, Oven temp 160 fan oven, bake for at least 50 minutes, depending on how many pasties you wish to make will again depend on how much veg you want to put in,

They look very nice indeed although they are obviously not Cornish Pasties if they have carrot in (I live in Cornwall!) (and eat a lot of pasties!!).

I spent donkeys years making them where I used to work, always liked to eat one for my lunch as well, in fact one could say I grew up on them amongst other pastries, no wonder I`m wasting away I miss my pastry teabreaks lol...

yes Dear, I use 8oz plain flour. 2oz Margarine 2oz Lard. I made four batches up yesterday, BA why do I love you so much,you do try my patience at times, xxxxx right leave the Worcester sauce out then

Ok I will try lard next time and compare it with previous products! I'm making steak and mushroom pie tomorrow!

Oh dear, I've run out of lard and marge ....come to think of it I haven't got any minced meat either ... or oxo, but that's because like all proper chefs, I make my own beef stock from scratch ha!:-} smug smile

Let's get him girls .... a gang of gung-ho GOYers is enough to frighten any man :-) I did get out to Walsall, roads not too good here though thawing, warmest day for weeks. I bought a a pack of 6 cakes, 2cream scones, 2cream slices and 2choc eclairs. Got stuck in when I got home, but was sorely disappointed Only ate half an eclair (rubbush chocolate) and half a scone (yuck) and a whole cream slice which was nothing to write home about either:-( I suppose they were only 50p each so shouldn't expect much for that price, but I was looking forward to them, never again:-( At least I never fell over:-))
