The 'Titch'
Well this is supposed to be the most depressing week of the year, but some people were getting some attention. My 4 year old goes to Cowes County Primary on the Isle of Wight, I help out all the time, do arty stuff, help the children plant stuff and sow seeds, etc.
The Isle of Wight has a high sheriff who is none other than the gardening guru Alan Titchmarsh and today he visited the school and the reception class and spoke to the children. Of all the days I would have loved to be there!! They were so sorry they forgot to tell me………………I was just sorry I missed the opportunity.
Not much of a blog, just a moan

Friday is usually my day and the class usually plans art and plant stuff on that day, I suppose as it is Thursday they never thought, I'm sure I will meet him at some stage, as a member at the Botanical Gardens, he is good friends with Simon Goodenough who is the curator as they knew each other at Kew. I am having some plans involving the Botanics and GOY..............................watch this space

?? I will! Sounds intriguing!
Get him to write a blog on GOY for us, Andrea - now there's a challenge for you!

Awwww thats terrible Andrea, if he was visiting our school everyone and his dog would know about it, I cant believe his visit wasn't the only topic of conversation for weeks!!!!!!!!!

Well, i'll let you know of my skeleton idea.................
I thought that if I got enough interest I could arrange a day at the Botanical Gardens. People would have to make their way to Cowes on the Isle of Wight, but then we would go to the gardens, walk around and take in the plants, have lunch or sandwiches in the gardens cafe, maybe then I could ask for a visit to the Horticultural library or a talk by the curator, and as he is friends with Titch you never know???? Then in the afternoon we could go to the beach next to the gardens and have a crab pastie and then re-visit some of the places in the gardens that appealed. I would arrange the transport by way of a minibus or coach depending on the numbers and then go back to Cowes to get the High speed service back to the mainland.
This will be in the shape of a blog when I have some things firmed up, but please let me know what you think??

Sorry, I did mean to say it would be a trip for GoY members and they can bring as many people along they like.
I have asked the lady who took the photos to download them on to a CD as there is one of AT and Jenny on there, I will post them on GoY when I get them, he asked her what they were making in their cookery lesson and she told him 'dinosaur poo'!! Well it was rice crispies in chocolate and they are studying dinosaurs and it was all linked, but wouldn't you just hope the world would swallow you up!!
Not too sure when the visit will be organised cause it will need a fair bit of planning.

VERY unfair not to tell you, Andrea! You could have taken lots of pieces of paper and got him to autograph them all for all us UK members! I am very disappointed in your school - they have let us all down! (small lol)
Sorry for your disappointment.
