NGS Garden Owner - Perks Of The Job

Once a year, in early March, our County Organiser has a get-together of garden owners. As well as a ‘thank you’ for opening our gardens, it is an opportunity to meet each other, get feedback on the money raised during the previous year and a pep talk on raising even more money for the charities supported. This year we were also asked for volunteers to help on the NGS Stand at Chelsea so of course, I volunteered!
As my stint was in the middle of the day, I got there early and had chance to see the Show before ‘work’ began. Here are some of the Show Gardens
Some of the smaller gardens are more relevant to our own plots but just as full of ideas. Bluespruce would like this one – it’s all planted with conifers and grasses
This won ‘Best in Show’ for its category
Or how about this for planters?
Not everything at Chelsea is perfect – with all those plants, the snails get huge!
Will I volunteer again next year? You bet I will.

Definitely a matter of reaping what you sow and therefore getting the benefits.
The photos are great and pleased you enjoyed the day

Shirley - while there weren't any garish gardens, I thought there was more colour this year than the past couple of years. A lot of the planting was very subtle with small fowers among the greenery but the colour was still there

Lucky you Andrew, TV prog last night commented on how there's more 'green' rather than colour this year, do you agree ? I love the conifer and grass combination garden too. Just looked way too crowded for me !
