Garden Olympics

It will soon be 2012 and, as you may have noticed, there is a little sporting event in London in the summer. Here in Bracknell we have already started the celebration. A couple of weekends ago, our local Horticultural Association (posh name for gardeners and allotment holders) had an event in the town centre, selling plants and produce. To generate a bit of interest and publicity, we decided to have a competition for the largest pumpkin and invited the mayor to help with the judging. We called the competition a Marrow-thon and the idea really caught on.
This set me wondering what other plant events should be included in a Garden Olympics. Here a couple of ideas I came up with:
Egg Plant and Spoon race
Tossing the Caper
Can you add any more?

she'll set Tet on him
pretty quicki.......!
9 Nov, 2011
you are so clever with your rhymes ~ and words pam. they never did answer so now they will be losing my business and i shall tell them why ~ i am taking it elsewhere ~ somewhere they answer the phone!!!
9 Nov, 2011
they don't deserve it!!
we keep getting those recorded messages from banks/ insurance companies, they start 'don't hang up this is important' or 'are you aware' Grrrr-- can't stop them as its a business phone.....
9 Nov, 2011
i shouted at some of them ~ i was SO cross ~ when i run down the stairs, in the middle of doing something and then its just another person either that i cant hear or understand or its the 101st person to ask if we want a grant for insulating the walls etc. we have registered the fact that we done want these calls but still we get them. and we dont have double walls so we cant have their insulation anyway!!! as you say ~ grrrrrrrrrrr
9 Nov, 2011
That sounds SOOOO familiar Sticki, I used to get angry and rude but realised I was only stressing myself more, so now I just quietly replace the receiver, take a deep breath and shout "YEE HA" (or words to that effect lol!)
9 Nov, 2011
i have sometimes left the phone off the hook ~ and they talk away but im off doing something else!!!
9 Nov, 2011
Just thought of another one ~ for 2012 it has to be ~ London Pride!!!!
9 Nov, 2011
Go to the top of the class,Sticki..best one yet :o)
9 Nov, 2011
Brilliant Sticki.... )( )( )( )( applause!!!
10 Nov, 2011
very good sticki and agree with the unwanted calls to, i dont get angry now i just put phone down, even getting then as early as 7.30am other morning and as late as 8.30 last week grrr
10 Nov, 2011
the trouble with the recorded messages is if you don't pick up the phone and speak it rings again-- believe me I've tried-- the most irritating call for me is british gas wanting me to swop to them-- I tell them thereis no gas in this area so good bye, usually they don't believe me and want a long conversation-- now its goodbye !!
