Gravetye Manor (2)

As promised, this second blog covers the kitchen garden at Gravetye. This is oval in shape and covers 1.5 acres. Set on a south-facing slope, it is good for growing both fruit and vegetables (which are used in the hotel).
This is the view inside the gate where the main path runs through the middle of the garden
But we turned left and took another route to see all the produce that was being grown
There is even a small tank of water for growing watercress
After spending time in the kitchen garden, we wandered back down a shady grass path to the rest of the garden

This reminded me of Mr Punch -"That's the way to do it..."

Veggies on parade, if only I had managed to grow them like that, always admire the kitchen gardens when visiting and these are obviously doing well.

What a great place I see they also mix flowers just like they use to on the allotments years ago in the 80s

We don't grow veg. ourselves but I always admire a beautifully laid out plot. The watercress tank is a brilliant idea, hopefully not too deep to step back into by mistake! The step-over apples are amazing and the hoops and cages I would love.
