**What could be nicer**

The NGS have a brand new image, which to me is a good thing, change for change sake……..no!! change to make the public more aware of us, and what we do, and what we stand for…..Yes!
I for one and my OH are very proud to be part of this organisation, because every penny counts, many, many people will have to face cancer in their lifetime, and will need the support of the Macmillan Cancer support and Marie Curie, so if you know of a garden open near you please do go along, and give your support, enjoy the garden and enjoy the tea and cake…..
It was our annual luncheon in Hampshire, and it was lovely to hear we are again the top of the leader board, go Hampshire Go!! sorry but I am so passionate about the NGS…
On a lighter note the photographs below show part of the garden we visited in Crawley, Patricia has been opening for over 30 years!! and her Spring garden is a picture….
Impressive!! despite the wet, these Tommies were looking wonderful…
Below is our new image, it creates an enjoyable scene, leading you, the garden visitor through the garden gate to enjoy a beautiful garden and a homemade tea….as I said what could be nicer?
Thanks for reading, there are many gardens open now, so if you want to do your bit to help, please pop along

Andrew you lucky man. I would love to hear Tom Dyke, he is such an inspiring man.......have seen him interviewed many times on the tv....
We had George Plumptre at the luncheon, he was selling the new brand, and he did it well , was hoping for Mary Berry lol

Those of you who open your gardens for the NGS are to be congratulated. I have already noted some NGS gardens to visit during this year, especially those with a plant sales stand. Inspiration and ideas can be gained from these visits, although visiting a large garden, they might have to be downsized a bit, like this one in Crawley, Hants.

Me to Summer wouldn't be the same without a few visits , Mary Berry Angela ,your thinking of your tummy again Lol ...

Amy.....Mary Berry is our new president!! and yes I was thinking of my stomach as well!!
Thanks to all of you who visit an open garden, we gardeners do appreciate it, makes it all worthwhile, because it is hard work, keeping it up to scratch, and worrying about the cakes and the weather situation, have we made enough cakes?, will anyone turn up? will it rain? will it be too hot? will they like the garden? and so on....

Those photo`s say it all, to me there is nothing like an English country garden in springtime. We go to quite a few open gardens and admire you and all like you that do so much in raising funds for such good causes, we are truly appreciative.

I picked up the NGS leaflet for my area when I was at the MacMillan centre, I marked several gardens that I would have liked to visit but sadly it wasn't to be. Maybe this year I will do better.
All the participants that open their gardens work so hard to open them & it is appreciated.

Thank you for sharing this DD. Think of how many people who have been helped through the fundraising done through the goodwill of all the gardeners opening their gardens, and all the hard work put into it. Well done.

I have been to a talk in Reading this evening by Tom Dyke from the World Garden at Lullingstone Castle in Kent. Highly moving and entertaining, excellent photography, and first class presentation. As the Berkshire County Organiser is the NGS Deputy Chairman, we are going to let her know he would make an excellent speaker for the NGS talk they now hold each autumn.
