Thanks 3pence, we do like ferns, and most of the time they like our garden!!

So do I it's great they like your garden you must have a lot of shaded parts. Did you know it was the only plant back in Victorian times that woman was allowed to grow.

Can you grow ferns in containers as I have no room in the garden?
Your collection is so attractive.

They wouldn't live long on our balcony - it faces more or less Southwest so gets all the sun that might be going from 11am till sunset! Or are there ferns even for this situation?

3pence I didn't known that, I knew the Victorian's were very fond of them...
Marjo I am sure you can grow them in containers, as long as they are in the right compost and shade or semi-shade.....they live forever!!
Balcony I don't know of any that would like that position!

Yes they were Dottydaisy men back then thought it unfitting for woman to grow any thing so they allowed the Fern to be grown by them. There is the River Sowe by me it runs underneath the canal you have to go down very steep wooden steps then either side of the river there are lots of different Ferns shades by the trees which lead onto the nature reserve called the Red Hills.

Sounds delightful 3pence....

Where the little wooden fence is on the canal bike ride film on my blog that's where the river runs under the canal with the Ferns but sadly the lad has nt captured it only the canal and nature reserve.

I just love Ferns. They grow really well here in Scotland. Rain maybe.

They certainly look healthy. Ferns always look cool!

Beautiful Dd, thanks for sharing, they are real nice ones.
Iโm beginning to value the evergreen ones in winter.
