Hi everyone, I mentioned in my profile that I have a large collection of houseplants. I would be lost without them in the winter. I am very partial to Cacti, Succulents and Caudiciforms. I would like to share some photos with you.
This is a bay window in my kitchen where I keep most of my Cacti and Succulents.
The next two are two double windows in my computer room.
One of my favorite Christmas Cactus called Jolly Dancer It’s an old one.
These are Epiphyllum Orchid Cactus wintering in the basement under lights. We have about senenty five cultivars asd as you can see we are very addicted to them. They all summer outdoors in a shade house. To the right is one of two Mandevilla Vines that I bring in for the winter. On the floor in the corner is my banana tree.
Last but not least is a large pony tail plant that I picked up on the side of the road. Someone had thrown it away. I completely removed all it’s leaves when I brought it home as they were severely dammaged. The new growth is coming along well. Mike

Hi Jacque, I had two cats for years. Sheba and Sara. They lived to be 20 and 21. I wasn't able to have a single plant around. Even in their senior years when they were slow getting around, they managed to get to them. Perhaps this is why I have so many now to make up for lost time. Mike C

I really like cacti and succulents, but, unfortunately, no-one else I know does. I don't have a single one. What a fantastic collection.

Well mike what can i say - it must feel like you are living in a jungle! looks fantastic and some really different ones too. i have a monster too that likes poking things in them and knocking them over - only mine is of the young human variety! so limited to green house and garden plants, - just a few in the house! in my flat i used to live before the monster came along i used to have loads, what with working in a florist i get to take home all of the half dead ones - i do love a challenge! but had to give most of them away when monster child came along! never mind i'll wait till she gets old enough to understand and maybe join in on my plant fettish and i can rebuild the collection - i always have a plentiful supply of sick needy plants to revive!

You really are doing a great job - I suppose it makes a change from shovelling snow lol. Lovely selection of plants and they must be a great joy to you. P.S. Like the Tiffany lamp!

Thank you Spritz. Yes it sure beats shovelling snow. I must say that I have had my fill of it. Spring is so very close yet it still looks like the middle of winter here. We have been getting some warmer days so the snow should melt quickly. We have been known to get some heavy snow falls in March so it's not over yet. I am so ready to get out there.

David, why not be the first in your group of friends to have a cactus AND a succulet. You would really enjoy them.
