As some of you may already know last week we went on a short break to the Lake District with our friends Sandra and Russell and as usual had a great time viewing the sights, enoying the Food and Drink and having lots and lots of laughs [see Bloomer’s Blog]
Here are a few more pictures of this beautiful area to share with you.
View From Our Bedroom at The Windermere Hotel
Bowness is a very busy lively and colourful place with lots of Cafes and Shops ,it was around one and half miles walk from the Hotel to the Lakeside and plenty of shops to browse on the way;0) !The Pleasure Boats on Lake Windermere were very busy, we didnt go for a sail as we were booked for one on Lake Ullswater.!
After all the walking, browsing and dining we were always ready to relax in the bar each evening
We visited the lovely Historic town of Ambleside, Known as “The Jewel of The Lakes”. A very popular place for walkers, and hikers,it has many old buildings and wonderful lakeland views.
Market Cross dates back to the 1800s
The Old Mill Water Wheel over “Stock Beck”
“Bridge House” thought to be the most photographed house in England, built as a folly over the river to avoid Land Tax and used as an Apple Store it is thought at one time to have housed a family betwen 6-8 people .
Just to add a few more to the number of people photoghraphed here.
The Boys
And The Girls.
Before we left this pretty Town we just had to stop for a bite to eat at The Priest Hole.
One of the highlights of the tour was a Sail on Ullswater.
View from the Pier.
Wonderful Views throughout the sail, Harry and I sat on the outside top deck, Hardy Sailors that we are! Sandra and Russell sat undercover, although they did join us on top for the last 10mins;0)
The sail took around an hour and was very secenic and relaxing , we left the boat at Pooley Bridge to join our coach for a the rest of the afternoon in Keswick and Grasmere.
We had a brilliant holiday but the most memorial part was our visit to Levens Hall and the Gardens. I know Sandra has put on a blog about it.but I can’t resist putting on a few more pictures, Hope you enjoy.
Well friends hope you have enjoyed your visit to the Lakes with us and thanks for viewing, until the next one Bye Bye.

Absolutely lovely. isn't it great that some places don't change?! I love Ambleside so much. It was where I saw my first ever red squirrel...on the walk up the waterfall at the back of the village....beautiful!
Levens Hall looks amazing. Lord and Lady Strathmore (Glamis Castle) were there recently and brought us back photos. I think they are hoping we can make their walled gardens look just as beautiful....time will tell!

Thanks Holly we certainly did;0)
We make the most of every minute Amy. Im sure the government have thought of a way to charge even if it is built over water, they never miss a trick to coin it in;0(
