by much at 44 F (7 C)! However it hasn’t rained, and being in the South so close to the gulf means we’ve avoided the snowstorms on the East Coast. Central Virginia got 11-15 inches of snow! Washington D.C. also received a couple inches. All this to say that it’s not such a good time for plants in Houston, it’s the second real cold spell we’ve had (there was one in December) and I’m amazed the banana tree is still alive.
I haven’t been on GOY for a long time, since November, but hopefully I’ll be able to catch up some on your blogs, which are always interesting, and post some of my pictures.
This December I went to El Salvador as usual, and have some beautiful pictures of my mother’s flowers, here is one called “Navidad” (“Christmas”) because it blooms in December:
And to the beach:
And to the beautiful town of Antigua, Guatemala. This is the famous Volcán de Agua (Water Volcano):I’m looking forward to seeing what GOYers have posted recently!

Still warmer than we've got, Raquel! I'm glad to hear that your banana tree is OK, though.
Welcome back! You have a lot of catching up to do. ;-)

Some lovely picture Raquel. I hope the snow stays away for you and temperatures keep rising. We've had more than enough cold and snow here this winter but temperatures have risen to a mild 7 or 8C yesterday and today.Let's hope it keeps rising!

Thank you to all of you for your nice comments! It's nice to be back on GoY!! I know that for some of you up North Houston weather is still pretty warm...but it's usually not this cold! I do hope the temps keep rising for you, and that you don't get more snow if you have it! Here it's been raining but it's much too warm for snow...however back East a huge snowstorm is falling and they're getting at least 2 ft of snow in Washington, D.C., which is pretty unusual for the city.
