Watching the seasons go by...

After being rather ill over the summer, I’ve been off work and, for the first time, I’ve been able to fully appreciate the change from late Summer, to Autumn and into Winter. So, after also seeing so many lovely before and after pics on GoY, I’ve been inspired to record the changes in my garden. I’m going to try to do this on a monthly basis. I’ll be back to work in the New Year but at least it’ll be getting lighter and I’ll be able to see the changes into Spring in the evenings and at the weekends.
We moved in in August 2005. The back garden had previously been surrounded by trees (in fact you could see how many on the old Google Maps images, until they updated it! This was quite nice, as we hadn’t seen it like this. Of course the view was aerial but we could imagine how closed in the garden would’ve seemed).
There had been Pine, Sycamores and others and some of the stumps were huge and fresh. So, we had a new, stark fence and no way of digging over the ground! The ground was also quite starved, probably by the trees.
So began the very slow process of getting the stumps to rot and trying to grow things! If we’d have had the money, we would’ve had them dug out then started the garden over from there but in a way I’m glad we didn’t.

Thanks Spritz, I am much better and yes, that's exactly what I'm doing! It's been really therapeutic looking at all the garden pictures too. In fact, I tried to look through everyone's photos and after 4 days of regular clicking through, I realised I couldn't ever catch up, so I'll keep up with the new stuff lol!
I've put some photos on my general photos of the garden record, I must remember to put them on the blogs too, I'm new to all this blogging stuff but enjoying it so far!

I love to watch the passing seasons. I even enjoy the winter (except when it snows).

You poor thing - off work a long time. I hope you are a lot better now. It's time to sit and plan for next year - and enjoy looking back at the progress in your garden. A lovely thing to do. Have you got any photos to add?
