Thank you to all our initial members for road-testing Grows on You. We are very grateful for the feedback we have received. We will continue to improve Grows on You and already have many of your suggestions in the pipeline, so keep your ideas coming.
As Easter and the blossom season approaches Grows on You is ready to be released to a wider audience and we would appreciate your help in spreading the word. The more Grows on You members, the better it becomes. If you’re able to tell other gardening enthusiasts about us and would like some flyers for the website please use the feedback button to send us your address and how many you would like.
We wish you all the best for the gardening year ahead, and as spring approaches we would like to share a poem with all of you. The poem is so simple and yet so beautiful and should be an inspiration to everyone who likes to ‘look at things in bloom’. Hope you like it:
Loveliest of trees, the cherry now
Is hung with bloom along the bough,
And stands about the woodland ride
Wearing white for Eastertide.
Now, of my threescore years and ten,
Twenty will not come again,
And take from seventy springs a score,
It only leaves me fifty more.
And since to look at things in bloom
Fifty springs are little room,
About the woodlands I will go
To see the cherry hung with snow.

Thank you for the site Ajay. Whilst you are in a poetry mood there is a beautiful traditional Japanese song about cherry blossom:
Sakura, sakura
Yayoi no sora wa
Miwatasu kagiri
Kasumi ka kumo ka
Nioi o izuru
Izaya, izaya
Mi ni yukan
Sakura, sakura
Noyama mo sato mo
Miwatasu kagiri
Kasumi ka kumo ka
Asahi ni niou
Sakura, sakura
Hana zakari
A rough translation in English:
Cherry trees, cherry trees
Across the March sky
As far as I can see
Like mist or cloud
The fragrance flows
Let's go now, let's go now
Let's go and see them
Cherry trees, cherry trees
From the mountains to the valleys
As far as I can see
Like mist or cloud
Perfuming the morning sun
Cherry trees, cherry trees
Flowers in full bloom
