Rockery revamped!

Here are some before and after pictures of my rock garden. Have dug up years worth of aquilegia, alliums and grape hyacinth. These photo’s were taken early spring so alliums and aquilegia hadn’t appeared yet. There were hundreds and thousands of bulbs hiding under the rocks. I’m sure I haven’t got all out so will be surprised next spring! Have deliberately spaced out the planting as I usually over plant and my poor plants end up fighting each other for space/sunlight.Four bags of rock garden gravel later and a sore back shovelling it all out of wheel barrow whilst husband was watching the rugby!! At least I’ve had my daily excercise!! What do you think?

Thats a job sorted and very nice it looks as well, having spent hours every year disposing of grape hyacinths I have no doubt that lovely shade of blue will be back next springtime, the aching back now deserves a rest..

Have had to cover whole area with chicken wire today as local cats have started using it as new litter tray!! Great.... :(

Oh yes....that can be a problem! Very unpleasant. Perhaps one of those devices that make a high pitched sound may keep them away without harming !

very nice job. I love the gravel effect and those little blue flowers look stunning - such a vibrant shade. I love blue.
