It's nice to see a hedge with lots of different shrubs. It's more interesting like that :)

We have old native hedges here wth dog roses, elder, blackthorn as well as hawthorn, oh an the odd ash tree seedling spotted by the flail hedge man......

Pam do you not find blackthorn suckers all over the place? They are a real pain here and pop up a long way from the parents sometimes.

Its a field hedge Stera and gets flailed later in the year, now we haven't animals in there it gets mowed to keep the grass short, we planted trees too so the odd blackthorn doesn't really matter.....

Glad to see my fellow gardening buddies approve of my native hedge! Just realised that (unintentionally) the right side of my garden is the 'wildlife' side with the native hedge, bug hotel and compost bins.
