Happy New Year!
I haven’t been on here in quite awhile as I’ve been busy discovering how to build websites and to use Ebay among many other things. Quite mind boggling but I did it.
We have had a lot of rainy days in LA sine October, I can’t remember such a wet Autumn and now that winter is here it’s much colder and yet more wet days just like today. It reminds me of my home country, Ireland.
So here I am back at the computer and thought I’d pop in to see how everyone was doing and catch up on your blogs and pictures.
I don’t envy you over across the pod with all that snow. I just don’t like the cold at all. Nice picture to look at though.
On the other hand a bad winter often means a good summer so fingers and everything else crossed for a lovely spring and a beautiful summer all round.
Here’s wishing you all a very Happy New Year and many happy gardening days through out 2011.
All the very best.

Thank you Bloomer, Terratoonie and Yorkshire.
I hope your New Year is off to a good start and will continue to be a good one for you.
It's a bit of reminiscing sad day for me as it's 12 years today since my mother passed away. My mother always had a things about NEVER taking down the Christmas decorations until January 6th. Ironically Jan. 6th. turned out to be the day of her funeral. I remember the day of the funeral walking into the Church to see a Calender on the table in the hall way and being shocked when I realized it was Jan 6th.
Sometimes I think we know things of our destiny but not realized it in detail.

Hi Anjie, lovely to hear from you, I too wish you a very happy new year and a good one in the garden. Today is just five months since I lost my Mum such mixed up feelings over christmas, I kept expecting her to call. Also its my hubbies birthday today so we have had a nice relaxing day and the kids dropped in and our daughter said hello on 'skype', that was nice, a new experience for us. I love your picture, love all around the world! We wish. :~) Speak soon x

Hello Grandmage.
Happy one to you too.
Sorry you lost your Mum big hugs to you. Losing a loved one and dealing with the grief of it is the hardest thing about life. I do believe we meet the ones we want to meet again in the after life though. I've had a number of unusual experiences to believe so. So hope you find some comfort in that.
Skype is a fabulous invention isn't it? I Skype with my sister in Ireland & my brother in Estonia.
It's a grey day in LA today, not too cold, but you know all the cold and rain we have had has the spring bulbs bursting up out of the ground. The Freesia & Daffodils are on their way up. Gladiolas too, some from last year are still green & never died back, I've never seen that happen before. The Hydrangea have lots of buds. I have Violas & Larkspur seeds popping up. Also Cilantro & Arugula I'm looking forward to them so it might be a lovely spring in the garden. It might make up for the poor year in the garden last year!
I'll get my Tomatoes going early this year as last year was a flop.
So all the best for now.
