Welcome, i agree it's as addictive as facebook, and that it is very educational..
I have to have a fix at least twice daily of GOY, just to see the amazing blogs, photos and ideas

Shade seems to b difficult in LA. I have some on my balcony but I love the sun worshipers as I'm one myself Ha Ha!

I bought a lotto ticket and told the guy one of them must b a winner.
I also bought a lovely new plant, shade I think as it was indoors.Lovely deep purple flower.
I'll take a pic & post it soon. I don't know the name of it as it doesn't have a tag.

So windy here 2day, many trees are down. It was sunny & lovely in the sun but in d shade at least 10 degrees colder. BURRRRR! Bring on d heat! El Nino!

If you put a pic of your new plant maybe someone will identify it for you. I hope your winds die down soon.

I think the winds will die down 2morrow then we have a fab. week ahead. Maybe even beach weather! :-)

Welcome to GoY Angie....have to agree with Irish...LOL! Many a burnt dinner or boiled over saucepan can be blamed on GoY!!

Another burnt dinner person here,as well ! Pork chops in my case..See what you are getting in to,Angie.? thank goodness for smoke alarms :o))))

So I'm not d only one that is loving it here. I guess plant lovers are really addicted to plants, if not shopping for them, planting them, waiting for the weather to change to plant, or on line talking about them & looking at them. Oh well cud b worse. We cud b smokers or heavy drinkers. Opps maybe I shouldn't have said that. I suppose one cud b both. To each their own!

Tell ya a story about burnt dinners. C if I can make it short.

Many moons ago I lived w/ 2 roommate ( flat mates ) 3 bed 3 bath place.
Not a bad place it was only a mear block & 1/4 from da beach. Lovely. :-)
I worked close by so I cycled to work. One evening there I was cycling down the rd. to see fire engines etc. out side of where I lived. Wondering what was going on but didn't want to think I was my place, of course not. Wellllllllllllllll It was! Story goes one of my very talkative room mates had put something in a pot of the stove. I think one of those boil in the bad rice. Went back to her bedroom closed the door & carried on chatting on the phone & forgot the pot. A neighbour ( American way of spelling it is neighbor ) saw the black smoke coming out the kitchen & call 911. They punded on the door & out comes my roommate!!! Some story she had to tell. It had boiled dry while she was chatting on the phone and was smoldering in the pot but she never smelt the smoke. So it was just smoke. The place stank! I think I was lucky & she even luckier. The whole place cud have burned down. So ladies & gents ( if there are some here) PLEASE KEEP AN EYE ON THOSE POTS! Learn from other peoples stupid mistakes.

Hi Angieingarden, Welcome to GOY. You will find it very interesting and educational I'm sure. I only joined a couple of months ago. and its surprising what different tips and good information I have gained. The members are so friendly, and will go out of their way to give you the information you require......the only thing is , it is very addictive.
