A day with the camera

A lovely day for a change, so I decided to make the best of it. No work today of any sorts!
There had been a frost overnight but it had its advantages
Cyclamen coum with additional icing
Saxifraga grisebachii is starting into growth
A single rosette of Saxifraga “Southside seedling” with frosty effect
As the day warmed up alpine house and frames were opened for some air. Looking more interesting now.
A few flower pictures. A nice pan of Narcissus “Hat”
Crocus corsicus
Crocus kosanini
Crocus malyi
One of the first Primula allionii to come into flower. I’ve lost the label but I think it’s “Mary Berry”
A couple of photos of Cyclamen pseudibericum growm from seed from one of the seed lists. Definitely worth joining the AGS, SRGC or Cyclamen Society!!
Crocus vernus ssp vernus
Iris winogradowii. Particularly pleased with this as I’ve flowered it 2 years in a row. In the past they’ve flowered once and died. Gets expensive!!
As the day was still a cracker, I decided to head over to Olney and photograph The Great Ouse where some flooding had occurred.
This first picture shows Olney Parish Church in the background
To end the day’s snapping, I took a few pictures in Emberton Park as the sun went down over the river.
So ended the day. Not very constructive but very enjoyable.

Thanks everyone. That's the beauty of digital photography, you didn't see the scores of lousy photos I took to get 2 good ones! T&t, looks can be deceiving, the alpine house floor is an accident waiting to happen.

You have made full use of your glasshouse, i reckon part of the veg plot will be going to make room for another soon.
Mary Berry looks right for shape, colour is to light but I think thats the photo ,I have alway found them difficult to photo the right shade

Again many thanks for the nice comments everyone. Thanks Brian, the plant itself is a deeper colour but you're right, difficult to get the correct shade in a photo.

Hi Pam, now that I didn't know. I'll have to do some research

Your alpine house looks wonderful! It's a little known fact that Sandra and I spend a lot of our time living under a bench in the Kew Gardens alpine house! Keep it a secret though!

I can think of many worse places to live though my choice would be the alpine house at Wisley

Excellent, it seems there are many professionals, can you help me figure it out?
What about this kind of original camera - http://fixthephoto.com/blog/tech-tips/relonch-camera-review.html?Is it for beginners?
