thanks for that Balcony. when I read the title I thought 'oh no!' I hope she isn't badly hurt, so what a relief to hear its just the computer :o)

Lets hope she can get it fixed ASAP. I've just had mine updated and it does take some doing, the only thing I missed was GoY though....

What a nuisance these modern gadgets are when they break down :(

Hurray, our good son has sorted it! It was horrid - when I switched it on one day last week all I got on the screen was "Please install an operating system!" Nightmare... Very very luckily when our son had set it up in the first place he'd put all the files in a sepearate partition from the operating system so i didn't lose anything - whew, what a relief!

Thank you Balcony - I was afraid it would take a lot longer than it did to sort it.

Sorry if I frightened anyone with the title of "Out of action"! It wasn't my intention, I assure you!

She just told me that she had used her husband's computer to send me a thank you PM for sending her an Amaryllis bulb. I have no more information than that.

We hope she will be back with us soon.
