IS SHE OR ISN'T SHE?

Spent a lovely sunny afternoon at my daughters and husband and 2 grandkids. Their dad had found a rabbit in the road on his way home last week and they have been looking after it as they are all animal crackers, and already have a dog, cat and several goldfish.
Olivia was so excited and told me the rabbit had been making a burrow at the back of their garden. We all sat watching her patiently digging the soil out and then she started lining it with straw. After a while she began fillling up the entrance with more straw and soil until it was closed. We think she has another exit further along under the bushes.
This activity had me wondering if she may be getting ready for the patter of tiny bunny feet! Olivia wasn’t too happy about this as she didn’t want the rabbit to be in any pain, but she cheered up at the thought of seeing some baby bunnies.
Can’t tell if she is pregnant by looking at her (if it is a she?), so we must all wait patiently to see what hapens next. It’s certainly given the kids something to keep an eye on anyway.

Hello MG, my daughter and the family will not worry too much about that as they prefer animals to gardening, unlike myself. They are not intending to keep any offspring, although the children will not be happy. We will have to wait and see what develops. They have called her Destiny and we shall wait to see hers.

How lovely Bellflower i'm all for wild life, that will be great for the grand children to watch. my daughter is just the same as yours. my grandaughter collects lady birds to put on my runner beans to eat the blackfly, and it works.

True MG. TulsaLady, it is lovely to see kids caring for creatures that need them, and even the ones that don't!

Thank you Bloomer, she wants to be a vet already but it's a long way off and she would need to study really hard. If her dad was as much a pet lover as the rest of them she would have at least 1 of everything I am sure.

for the first time today our youngest's pet bunny dug a blinking big hole in the lawn, at the edge of her run. Not a good sight. Threatened her with a pastry overcoat. could have sworn she was laughing at me.... rabbit not daughter :o)

Sure will TL, a lady at the local post office breeds rabbits and she has had a look and says if she is pregnant it would probably only be 1 bunny, and to wait 2 to 3 weeks and we should find out. Watch this space!

can't wait, why only one?

TL she said she couldn't feel anything although the tummy was quite large so maybe she thought it would only be the 1. I thought she would have felt some movement though if there was only the 1 or not.

I am amazed that anyone would willingly introduce a rabbit into their open garden... The patter of baby bunny feet if it occurs will see a rapid decimation in the plants in the garden.
