Front garden (paving yet again lol)

Sorry its paving again, i’m going paving loopy!

Finally they started my drive using the old paving from the front and side of my house. They said i would be wasting money buying new as the old would do just fine.

Taken from the bedroom before they cleaned them off. My poor grass!!!

A sneaky picture from my front door, i feel a bit daft taking pictures at the front. Non goy people wouldn’t understand lol..Anyway i dug a small border and put in some buxus ive been having a go at shaping over the last 3 years. I also put in some dahlias and roses.

Yesterday i cut the front grass and gave it a real good raking over and put some patch magic, so fingers crossed it should all grow back..(that is my final blog on paving lol)

It all looks very nice indeed. I like your little buxus too.

I'm sure you're thrilled with it Bill, it looks very well done, and the old paving looks brand new! It's a really lovely job! I would maybe have a look at the drainage situation with your grass, Bill, with all the weight that has been standing on it, it might be quite compacted, so it could be worthwhile going over the worst bits with a border fork and wriggling a few holes in the turf, and then dribbling some sand into the holes. Knowing how much you love your lawn, so you've probably done this already, so hopefully I'm not teaching you to suck eggs! Ewww! ;0)

It's good that you recycled your slabs. More money for plants.

Thanks Libet, to be honest i rushed putting seed down but your right i should have put some holes in there with sand.Everything has happened all at once. As soon as the paving was done and i raked all the stones off the window fitters came and dumped everything on there too..Hopefully now thats it and it can grow back but i will follow your advice on my days off this week.

Thanks Homebird, Grannyb and Cinderella. I think i've spent all my money for this year on the garden. I had thought on earlier on in the year and have grown everything from tubers and little buxus over the last few months ready to be planted when it was time. Although i did splash out the other day on a cheap patio set and bbq if the weather is ever warm enough on my days off..

They have really made a wonderful job of all your paving, Bill. It is a big disruption having the workmen in but my, oh my, how good it is all looking now...certainly worth the inconvenience and mess.

You've done a great job of following the curve alongside the drive and adding in your small border...just completes it so well. Hope when you next tackle your grass problems that you'll be able to finally put your feet up and relax to enjoy your 'new' garden space :)
