This Blog is saying good by Spring Hello Summer In between i have popped in two Rhododendron’s as they were to good to leave out.
Firstly a Rose I particularly like The Shepherdess.
Next Orchis Foliosa I look forward to this every year it has been with me since the 70s ,I keep it in pots as my ground becomes waterlogged in winter
Rhododendron ‘Rose Bud’ this one is so cute with its small semi double flowers one of the last to flower also one of the easiest to propagate
The Fish are part of the Garden so here they are
My Tree Fern is starting to worry me it has never been this late before
Last of the Rhododendrons
Acinidia Pilosula (think thats how it’s spelt) with eye catching white blotches And pretty pink flowers
Paeonia seed pods are growing fat soon be time to cover them before the Squirrels eat them
Other ferns are looking nice if we can stop Jamie sitting on them
Finally a view showing the Ceanothus

Love the photographs Bjs.
I was looking at roses today trying to decide what to buy. I like the Shepherdess, it is like an old rose. I had to look twice at the Rhododendron Rose Bud it is really unusual.
Best wishes
Linda

Love the rose, gorgeous form and colour....but, that Orchis is stunning. How old is it, and do you have to overwinter in the greenhouse?

Peonyrose the Orchid is hardy i have seen it growing in large clumps in Cumbria in the open ground, however I have never found it survive for long here in the West of England,my soil is to heavy and waterlogged in winter so it is kept almost dry in a cold glass house over winter.I think these have been in there pot 4 years.they increase by small offsets from the main root.

Could you tell me where I can purchase a orchis Foliosa from please.

Difficult one There are couple of Nurseries list them they will normally only post them late Winter.Laneside Nurseries does sell them ,However even if they did offer to send it I would not recommend it as they do not travel well when growing.
I have in the Past seen them for sale at plant fairs thats the sort of place to look where they can be carried home.

What gorgeous photographs Bjs. I love all those plants, especially the first rose and the orchis. Never seen those before. Also the double Rhododendron. I am very envious of those.
