This is proving a good year for them so far, found two lily beetles on one earlier today
The first picture intrigues me that two variations in colour for some reason one flowers later than the other
I like the white ones, pity I can not get it in focus
This is a new experiment at growing them in the grass alright first year!
Bit surprised to see one stem with two flower heads, not sure why other Frits have multi flowers
I find the variation in shads appealing

I also like that their colours are not all identical it makes for a much better display.
They really do look great in your lawn Brian. It's a good year for the Frits all that rain has done them the world of good!

lovely pictures too.
I have one that has 4 flower heads, lots of doubles and singles too. I did have white ones but not seen them this year, yet!
I'd love to grow them in grass as they do in water meadows.

It is so interesting that nature can create a checked petal.

I love these flowers, just hate finding lily beetles and having to squish them. Off out beetle hunting in a moment.

What a treat to see them growing this way.

The contrast in the 1st photo is breathtaking, B.
Frits are another flower I've discovered I like. Lol.

Very nice Brian, I did the grass a few years ago, but I had problems cutting the grass as it grows early here. The variations are very nice.

Yours look lovely. I planted 50 bulbs 3 years ago, but none ever came up, so I gave up on them and moved on. I looked in the garden two days ago and 2 have come up. They haven't opened yet, but everything seems to be really late this year anyway. It was a nice surprise to see them and who knows next year I may get 3! lol

Actually, 'cos members are reporting the beetle on their Frits, I just assumed a Frit was another variation of lilly.
What am I like?!
So, what else to these wee beasties munch on?

I've only ever found them on Frits and lilies Mouldy, I did find one on my azalea before but that was right by one of my lily regals so it probably just hid there till my size 9 boots had walked by ;-)

"One man's epic battle against the invading army of flower devourers.
Armed with just his size 9 beetle-crunchers our intrepid hero strode determinedly forward to do battle with the red tide known as 'The Lily Beetles', sparks flying from his footwear"
(Cue music ; Nancy Sinatra...'These boots are made for walkin' on Dolby surround-sound). Lol.
