How Pauline must love that view, its stunning. I want another Acer but could`nt make up my mind until now - its definitely an Orange Dream.

Marybells
You need a ladder to photograph P.Lutea it is very tall.
Karen the Iris was AGS seed
Stroller
The maple was a birthday present last year and the colour was underwhelming but improved considerably this spring, the GC where it was bought have an artificial shade area and wonder if that had some bearing on last years poor colour. Just thinking out a loud.lol
As for Pauline's view that is east and cold in winter.

It is so beautiful, Brian. How lovely the Magnolia Susan - I
haven't come across that before.

Susan is one that is easy to find as small plants in Autumn, Wilkinsons, B&Q, Homebase as well as larger ones in G.C .it grows quite fast.

Thanks for that, Brian - I shall keep an eye out for it. It is very elegant.

You have a beautiful established garden, how long have you lived there Brian?

Dotty, all my Married life 54 years but what is the woodland area was a separate purchase about 35 years ago.

A REAL GARDEN.

More spectacular views of your beautiful plants Bjs. I laughed when I saw the unknown fern. Am I going mad or does it bear a resemblance to Jamie. I'm not going to choose a favourite as I love them all.

Thanks for the info Brian, went out today but couldn`t get `Orange dream` so settled for `Sango-kaku` looks similar in colour, just put it on my photos. Shall still look for Orange dream tho.

Scotsgran I can see where you are coming from it has that unkempt scraggy look.
13 May, 2014
I think 'busy looking' Bjs.
13 May, 2014
Ah - "busy looking" - I like that! But I quite like "unkempt" as well. I don't think "scraggy-looking" applies here!
I love the pink convallaria. My white ones are suddenly intent on world domination after a decade of good behaviour. Some more offerings for my sister's garden, I think.

Melchisedec
The pink ones are doing the same they must have travelled a long way underground last year.
16 May, 2014
Have you ever tried to dig them up, Brian? The roots of mine are like old underlay! (Matted felt!)
16 May, 2014
Yes they are a pain, plan to stop mine before they go to far.
