HAPPY BLOG: FLOWERS & TEDDY BEARS IN BRIDGNORTH

This Saturday I was in Bridgenorth. It was a beautiful day and Bridgenorth was beautiful. Flowers everywhere and fantastic buildings.

I thought some of you would like to see these:

When I visit somewhere like this …I want to live there, perhaps here? It’s at the top of a steep road, lovely.

To the river. Lots of handsome geese.

Chip eating people.

These roses are growing directly under this tree.

We were here for the Sabrina festival taking place in the White Lion. Guess which was my favourite singer?

Lovely happy blog, Ba and a very pretty town.
Please excuse me as I'm somewhat geographically challenged, though...where is Bridgenorth?

Looks a great place to visit or maybe live Ba, especially in that house in the lane. The townspeople have created some wonderful floral displays, and the walk by the river looks idyllic.....lovely blog.

It looks a very pretty place, BA. Excuse my ignorance, but what is the Sabrina Festival? As for the bears, I'd like the gorgeous grey one, who appears to have been reduced to £50, please. I also like the mouse/rabbit (?) at £95.

Now look here you ignoramuses ...maybe if I had spelt it correctly ...you may have heard of it oooops I'll change it now to Bridgnorth without the 'e' lol. It's in Shropshire. If you're interested there is a Bridgnorth tourist board site, worth a look. It's has won 5 consecutive gold medals in the Britain in Bloom competition and a silver award in the European floral competition. Yes Pam some are 16th century buildings and some even older:-) We didn't get to see much of the town being at the little folk music festival, that's what it was Tuesdaybear. I think these are the sort of bear nobody plays with, just collects, cute though. lots of quaint independent shops:-) I've seen some lovely floral decs in France Karen:-) Janey, I don't think I could afford the house prices there lovely though it is and Willi ...I spill some drink ...one day I'll go out and not spill anything ...this time, I just missed my mouth...easily done lol:-) Thanks for all your kind comments:-)

OH may have heard of it - keeps very up to date with music. We're big fans of Kate Rusby and Thea Gilmore.

I think it's only been going 4 years so he probably hasn't and it's confined to one pub lol. I'm afraid I'm no officianado although I do like most music. My daughter's started singing at the festivals recently and I go to see her if possible. I didn't get to the Bromsgrove one though which is quite local and bigger than Sabrina lol. My son plays fiddle and sings too. Not with Boo though:-)

How lovely to have a musical family, Ba...Do you have great New Year's Eve parties?

My new neighbours are from Shropshire...I must ask them if they're from near Bridg()north...I wonder who decided to drop the "e"...
Anyway, it doesn't matter how it's spelled, when you say it...
...or does it??? Will find out later! ;)))

We used to have good musical parties Karen, but not so much since OH became ill. It's still our house for food though:-))

Lovely little trip out for the day BA. I love little villages like that, nice little shops and lots of flowers and a river setting to boot. All the more pretty when the sun shines. Is that your daughter in action in the last shot?

Yes that's Boo, if you go on you tube type Becky Manear & Tony Portlock - Careless Love or Streams Of Lovely Nancy you can hear her if you want, there's a few of her on there from the Bromsgrove Festival. I'm no good at giving links, the one I gave Yorkie didn't work lol:-)

Wow how good is she!
I love that music :-)
I was just waiting for a cats chorus in the background when you joined in! Lol.

13 Aug, 2012

Isn't she?!!
I loved Careless Love...and so did CoCo...she was immediately in the backing group!
(...that's a huge compliment, Ba, as she only ever sings along to the good stuff...Jimmy Cliff being her absolute hero)

Thanks Sandra, did you like the house I chose? may have trouble climbing that steep hill every day though:-)

13 Aug, 2012

Just listened to Becky on Youtube. What a lovely, pure voice she has. You must be a proud mum, BA.

Thanks Tuesdaybear, I am. My lot can all sing, took after their father, not me. My voice is rubbish, but I did teach them guitar when they were kids. I was never very good though, they're all better than I was lol:-)
