Just been out with my camera to photograph plants that are still looking good(not many) Oops what have I done now? the hydrangea photo has not materialised! I’ll put it at the bottom:-)
This hydrangea has only one flower, but big healthy leaves. It had been in its pot for a few years and this year I re-potted it, is that why? http://media.growsonyou.com/photos/blog_photo/image/17368/main/DSCF0019.jpg!
this is the lovely crocosmia solfatare, possibly my favourite one, in the background is lavatera ice cool
this is a close up of lavatera icecool. It self seeds but is never a nuisance rather lovely I think
Of course the lovely meconopsis cambrica(welsh poppy)
Just thought I’d show you my new ornament for the front garden. If I’ve got my camera, Rosie’s there, thinks she’s a model
this is the hydrangea referred to above. I’ve no idea what happened 8~/

You've still got some lovely colour there BA. That Lavatera is stunning, I used to always have lavatera but only the common pink kind and have not seen this one before. Don't think I've ever seen a flower which is completely white like that in the centre too, lovely. Crocosmia and poppy looking good too.
You got the pretty hydrangea in eventually, well done!!! :o)
Rosie makes a lovely garden ornament.

thanks Bscott, I thought hydrangeas grew anywhere ;-( Lily, if you like I can try collecting seeds of ice cool, I think it's a subshrub. I've never tried before as I started with one and now have four. One has to come up because from next year I'm going to be ruthless and if a plant is in the wrong place...up it comes, and I have a feeling they won't transplant. They can grow to about six feet tall, but mine don't take up much space:-) Oops as I was 'commenting' up popped your comment Crazy, thanks:-)

OOh yes I'd love some seed if you can get some please BA. When I had a big garden I had the huge pink shrub lavatera and I also used to grow the pink annuals from seed. Love them all but haven't had any for several years now so it would be great to grow some again.

I find that lavatera rosea also self seeds, don't know about barnsley, it hasn't yet. Do you want any other lavatera (shrub only I'm afraid) if I can get any Lily? There's a house near ours which has what I think is the annual ?lavatera in their front garden , it looks fantastic at the moment:-)

Thanks BA but I think I'll have to stick with just the Ice Cool as it's pretty much standing room only for shrubs in my garden now! :o))
